Usage Standards for the FOACC Website

Short form: Posts should be relevant, thoughtful, and polite.

Submitted items are expected to follow these rules:
  1. While there are many good causes in the world and interesting events in the region, this site is limited to items relevant to making Austin Community College better able to serve its community.
  2. Try to ensure that items or comments you submit are adding something new to the discussion.  If you simply wish to express agreement or disagreement with an item, use the rating system, which can summarize reactions from many users without making comment sections too long.
  3. Be polite, even when making strongly-felt criticisms of what other authors say or of how ACC operates.  This site is for building community, not for venting.  State your concerns or disagreements, but don't personalize them.
  4. Don't take polite criticism of your ideas as a personal attack.  Instead, use this site to learn how other ACC-friendly people differ from you, and how you might adjust either your ideas or your way of expressing them to promote progess in the areas you are concerned about.
